Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir may have been opening partners for Indian Cricket Team, but that did not stop Virender Sehwag from taking a dig at former team mate.
When Virender Sehwag announced that Ishant Sharma was joining Kings XI Punjab at a media interaction, one journalist reminded Sehwag of Gambhir’s comment,”Nobody will pay Rs 2 crore for 4 overs. I am surprised to see Ishant’s base price.”
To that Sehwag replied sarcastically,“Tell me one thing, who pays your Rs 12 crore for playing 60 balls then?”
Clearly it was a dig at Gautam Gambhir. Ishant Sharma went unsold at the IPL Auction before being bought by Kings XI Punjab.
