Indian team middle-order batsman Suresh Raina is likely to miss the third ODI against New Zealand, which is to be played at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.
Suresh Raina, who was ruled out of the first ODI due to severe viral fever, was not participated in the second ODI as he needs more time to recover. While there were hopes that he would play the third ODI, it is learnt that he is not with the Indian team in Mohali.
When reporters asked about the Raina’s availability, Nishant Jeet Arora, Team India’s media manager said, “(Suresh) Raina is not here with the team. It is a 14-member squad.”
Suresh Raina, who was included in the first three ODI of the five match ODI series, was looking to part of his first ODI since october 2015 as India took on New Zealand in Dharmasala. However, he missed out playing in both first and Second ODI.
Had Raina been fit for the Feroz Shah Kotla match, it would have been a selection conundrum between him and Keder Jadhav.
He was dropped from the ODI series against Australia and tour of Zimbabwe earlier this year. He last played ODI for India was against South Africa in the five-match ODI series in India.
