Kamal Haasan Earlier Life & Family
Kamal was born on 7 November 1954 in Ramanathapuram, Madras State to a tamil family With a birth name Parthasarathy. His parents D. Srinivasan (Father) is a Lawyer by profession and Rajalakshmi (Mother) is a house-wife. Kamal belongs to Brahmin family by birth and he is atheist.
He was studied his schooling in Santhome, Madras. During his school days he debut in tamil movie as child artist. Kamal was married to Vani Ganpati in 1978 and divorced in 1988. Later he married Sarika Thakur (m. 1988; div. 2004).
He has three daughters Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan, Subbalakshmi. His brothers Charuhasan (born 1930) and Chandrahasan (born 1936) are lawyers. He is Uncle of tamil actress Suhasini Maniratnam.
Kamal Haasan Career Facts
In 1960, Kamal Haasan debut in tamil cinema with the film Kalathur Kannamma as a child artist. From the period of 1959 to 1965, he featured as child artist in several tamil and malayalam movies.
He took seven years gap from movies and returned back as assistant dance master to Choreographer Thankappan. Kamal managed to act in supporting role during the time.
Later K. Balachander introduced Kamal in fledged role in Arangetram (1973) and later he made him play antogonist in Sollathaan Ninaikkiren (1973). Balachander gave him back to back chances in his films.
His first lead role in malayalam ‘Kanyakumari’ won him a filmfare award. later K. Balachander’s Apoorva Raagangal made Kamal as established actor in tamil.
In Late 90s, he ruled kollywood box office with his back to bakc hits in box office along with his rival Super Star Rajinikanth.
With years passing Kamal has experimented a lot with his movies has Diretor, Screenplay writer, Dancer and more.
Kamal is prominently the first actor in tamil cinema who worked 50 years. Vijay Television conducted a show ‘Kamal 50’ as a honour.
He featured in more than 200 films in tamil, malayalam, hindi, telugu. And won more than 100+ awards.
In 2017, Kamal collaborated with Vijay Television to host ‘Bigg Boss Tamil‘ show.
